LSG, an impact agency specializing in brand building, corporate reputation management, and public affairs for Fortune 500 companies and leading associations, is seeking a strategic insights professional with 4-6 years’ work experience to join our rapidly growing team.

The ideal Director candidate should be a highly-motivated, exceptionally hard-working individual with an interest in brand, reputation, and consumer/product marketing research and analytics, with and a laser focus on attention-to-detail. They must be a team player and possess strong written and verbal communications skills as well as interpersonal, research/analytics, and project management skills.

The Director will work in the firm’s strategic insights practice that conducts all quantitative and qualitative research for firm clients with an emphasis on brand, reputation, and consumer/product marketing research, as well as message testing and development, campaign tracking and optimization, audience segmentation/persona development research, and strategic intelligence dashboards.

This role is client-facing and an avid interest in quantitative and qualitative research, primary and secondary research, messaging, and language is a must. LSG is currently operating in a hybrid environment. This role will be based in Washington, DC.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Learn, understand, and analyze complex brand, reputation, consumer/product marketing issues for new, current, and potential Fortune 100 clients.
  • Manage quantitative research projects with responsibilities including, but not limited to, drafting surveys, proofreading and editing, ensuring accurate outputs, analyzing data, identifying key insights, and drafting detailed analyses in both PowerPoint and memo formats.
  • Manage qualitative research projects with responsibilities including, but not limited to, development of participant and moderator materials, attending client focus groups most often in the evening, sharing detailed notes and feedback, and drafting post-research deliverables for clients.
  • In-depth research of messaging from clients and key stakeholders for any project. The ability to quickly absorb, retain, and critically apply information about clients, competitors, and relevant market dynamics you may be initially unfamiliar with is essential.
  • Write, edit, and proofread client-facing materials to ensure consistency, 100% accuracy (i.e. no typos, statements verified by data/research, etc.), and quality.
  • Assist with client reporting, including the management of weekly reports, updates, and post-research materials.
  • Closely manage progress-to-goal on client accounts to ensure target objectives are on-track to be met and to identify areas of weakness/underperformance.
  • Participate in the new business process, including research and proposal drafting
  • Manage a direct report as well as oversee coordination of a team of associates who will provide support on client projects.

Qualifications:

  • A. or master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Marketing, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, including attention to grammatical detail, clarity, speed, and accuracy, as well as creative abilities to draft and develop fresh, original content.
  • 4-6 years of prior experience in market research, polling, data analytics, communications, public affairs, marketing, and/or political campaign/government experience.
  • Strong research and analytics skills.
  • Confidence and poise interacting, communicating, and presenting to clients, other consultants, and corporate executives.
  • Proficient and comfortable managing complex projects in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Docs.
  • Ability to adapt communications styles to cultural environments and incorporate the perspectives of multiple communities in the consideration of impacts and outcomes of policy proposals.
  • Team player, willingness to take the initiative when needed, and works well independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while simultaneously meeting deadlines
  • Willingness to travel for client projects in the U.S. and abroad when safe and needed.

*Salary Range: $95k-$140k*
