A Network of American Storytellers – Produced by

Our communities.
Our stories.
Our America.

250 Americans. Every corner of the country. Telling the story of America that doesn’t get told enough. Real people celebrating the nation’s 250th by sharing their own milestones — where they started, the risks they took, how they’ve grown, and what they see ahead.

Because the best way to celebrate a nation is to actually listen to the people who make it.

The Mission

America’s 250th is a moment to celebrate what’s been built—and what comes next

For 250 years, Americans have been starting businesses, raising families, building communities, and shaping the industries and traditions that define this country. Every corner of America has a story worth telling and a person behind it whose voice deserves to be heard. The 250 exists to elevate those stories. We’re bringing real Americans into the national conversation: to Washington, to state capitols, to city halls, to the boardrooms, newsrooms, and online platforms where the future gets decided.

The 250 is an initiative of LSG, an impact agency headquartered in Washington, D.C. For nearly 20 years, LSG has worked in all 50 states — not to deliver a message, but to find the people already living one. The 250 is what we built from all of that listening.

New Survey: The State of US

LSG conducted a national study, The State of US, exploring likely voters’ views on national identity, American values, and the forces shaping the 2026 and 2028 elections. The research also profiles the emerging electorate that will define future elections.

At a time when Americans are often told the country is deeply divided, The State of US reveals something different: voters nearly universally share a common core of values that transcend political, demographic, and geographic differences. Key findings include:

of likely voters believe freedom and individual rights are important to being an American.
believe treating everyone equally regardless of background is important.
believe working hard and being self-reliant is important.
believe voting in elections is central to being an American.
believe respecting the U.S. Constitution and American institutions is important.
